<p>The plan will finance emerging players after they enter the top 125 in the globe, according to the men’s professional tennis circuit’s organizers.</p>
<p>The ‘Baseline’ concept guarantees players a minimum salary depending on their ranking, with the ATP set to make up any deficit in prize money winnings.</p>
<p>The top-100 players will have a “guaranteed threshold” of $300,000 (276,523 euros) for the 2024 season. The prize reduces to $150,000 for those in positions 101 through 175 and to $75,000 for any players still in the top 250.</p>
<p>“This assurance will empower players to plan their seasons with greater certainty, focus on their game, and invest in their teams,” stated the ATP.</p>
<p>Players who participate in “fewer than nine ATP Tour and Challenger Tour events in a season due to injury” will also get sponsorship from this program.</p>
<p>A player’s rating is also related to the amount of financial assistance they are eligible for; it starts at $200,000 for the top 100 players. The cap is $100,000 for positions 101 through 175 and then 50,000 for the remaining positions.</p>
<p>The ATP has promised to offer players who reach the top 125 for the first time advances on future wins.</p>
<p>The next season’s financing will be paid in advance and deducted from prize money earned, giving them “access to $200,000 in funding.”</p>
<p>A member of the ATP player advisory board named Grigor Dimitrov stated, “Being a professional tennis player comes with incredible rewards, but it’s also a challenging journey, especially for those starting their careers.”</p>
<p>“Baseline changes the game. We feel more at ease knowing that the minimum guarantee and injury protection pillars are there to safeguard us, which enables us to concentrate on our game and work toward success.</p>
<p>Players often criticize the ATP for the disparity in pay between top players who make enormous amounts of money and those at the bottom of the rankings who have a difficult time making ends meet.</p>
